Our last gig of the year!
The Arbor Consort is performing at the Ypsilanti Historical Society from 7 – 9 pm, singing selections from our Holiday repertoire that includes Christmas carols from the Victorian era and earlier. This is our last gig of 2010, but we have big, exciting plans for 2011. Thanks to all of our singers, and our director for a successful year.
This is a GORGEOUS site!
I can’t wait to start performing with The Arbor Consort at the Holly Renaissance festival again! It’s SUCH a blast! On average, five of us show up all decked out in garb and sing gorgeous madrigals in 4- and 5-part harmony for passersby!
The Arbor Consort generally sings at the Gazebo (right across from the ice cream place), so folks in line are serenaded by us. It’s a lot of fun dressing in renaissance garb and interacting with patrons and cast members alike as though we’re wealthy merchants who happen to sing in that era.
After we’re finished singing, most of us in the Arbor Consort stroll around together to shop or see other performers’ shows. We all get along well and welcome new members into the group (and our friend circle) warmly!
If you’re a singer who enjoys the Renaissance Festival, and would like to get to know like-minded, warm and fun folks, come on over to a rehearsal! We meet Wednesday evenings 7:30 to 9:30 at the corner of Miller & Newport at the little church there.
